Request a Presentation

Interested in having a Napa Valley Together agency provide a presentation, training, or other engagement for your group? We’re here to educate and empower our community by sharing important information about immigrant rights, family preparedness, legal benefits, and more.

Presentations/Trainings are provided for Napa County residents, organizations and businesses only.

Due to a significant number of requests for presentations, the minimum waiting time to schedule a presentation is at least 3 weeks. Thank you for your patience as NVT Partners build capacity to reduce the time between your request and the delivery of training.
Presentations are offered in multiple languages and can accommodate both in-person and virtual formats. Special accommodation can be made for larger sizes or customized content.

• Childcare is not provided by Napa Valley Together.

 

Trainings for Staff, Trusted Messengers and Employers

1. Know Your Rights & Effective Legal Services Referrals - for Staff/Trusted Messengers: A NVT representative can review “Know Your Rights” information to those who work with vulnerable populations to ensure that we are all providing a consistent message to the community. The training will also provide an overview of how to make effective referrals to the legal services available in the area.
Length of Presentation: 90 minutes

2. Trusted Messenger Immigrant Training - Removing Barriers to Access Social Services: NVT representatives will provide a) an overview of the Public Charge rule and implications for the immigrant community, b) provide trusted resources for staff and clients that will promote consistent messaging and, c) staff will learn strategies to address concerns, fears and anxiety from clients.
Length of Presentation: 3 hours
Maximum number of attendees: 50

 

3. Nonprofit Employer Training Regarding Immigration Enforcement Onsite: Support with emergency preparedness planning for your organization, including a plan to prepare for possible ICE presence on site.
Length of Presentation: 2 hours
Maximum number of attendees 25

Support for Families and Individuals 

4. Know Your Rights - for Families and Individuals: A NVT representative will review what rights everyone has under the U.S. Constitution, regardless of immigration status; discuss how to assert those rights; prevent ICE arrests; what to do if detained; CA protections, and local and national resources.
Length of Presentation: 90 minutes

5. Family Preparedness Plans: A NVT representative will provide information to help immigrant parents make a childcare plan if they are unable to care for their children due to detention or deportation. We will cover alternate care arrangements for children under California law, including the Caregiver's Authorization Affidavit, as well as children’s educational rights in California. We will also provide tips for sharing this information with families in your community.
Length of Presentation: 2 hours

6. Removing Barriers to Access Social Services - Understanding Public Charge: NVT representatives will provide an overview of the Public Charge rule and implications for the immigrant community, b) provide trusted resources and strategies for residents to address concerns, fears and anxiety as a result of the changing immigration landscape.
